About Winona Wilson

10 Professional Facts:

1. I earned my BS degree from UNR.
2. I am in my 3rd year of teaching.
3. I love teaching at Traner Middle School.
4. I was a substitute teacher for 2.5 years before I started teaching full time.
5. I just finished two classes on NVACS creating instructional materials.  It has really changed the way I want to make summative assessments.
6. I am playing catch-up from my maternity leave.
7. I'm always willing to help my colleagues.
8. I have completed a couple trainings for 21st Century Learning.  The first training was the summer before my first year of teaching!
9. I enjoy reading books that will help me become a better professional and math teacher.

10 Personal Facts:

1. I have a daughter named Celeste and she was born on September 5th.
2. I have 7 sisters and 1 brother.
3. I often forget the date of my anniversary, but I know it was at the end of July in 2011.
4. I have one dog. His name is Tiny.
5. I love to read.  
6. I'm currently reading four books right now.  Two for personal enjoyment and two for professional growth.
7. My first car was an '87 Bronco II and it couldn't handle the cold weather when I moved to Reno.
8. I used to live in Delhi, California.
9. I have six neices and five nephews. Christmas gets intense!
10.  My father died when I was in 7th grade.
